The Development Status Of 3D Wheel Alignment

The main symbol of this generation of products is its core component, the industrial camera. This first-generation 3D four-wheel aligner must still take pictures at a designated location. The process of cart measurement must be carried out as follows:
When the vehicle is stationary, take a photo of the target for more than 3 seconds
push the cart a distance
When the vehicle is stationary, the second time to take pictures of the target for more than 3 seconds
Push the cart forward to return the cart to the starting position
Two space coordinate points on the target motion trajectory are calculated through two static photos, and then the two points are used to fit the target's motion curve according to the theoretical curve, which is used to calculate the relevant parameters of the vehicle tire positioning. The advantages of this method are low hardware requirements for cameras and microcomputers, simple software calculations, and low production costs. But the shortcomings are also very obvious. Since it only uses two points to fit the motion curve, and uses the fitted curve as the real motion curve of the target, it is inevitably based on a series of assumptions, such as:
The whole cart process is carried out in an ideal car body plane
There is no snaking or sliding during the entire cart process
The points of the two still shots must be accurate, and the vehicle does not shake
If the above assumptions cannot be fully established, the coincidence of the theoretical curve and the actual motion curve
The performance will be poor, which will inevitably lead to large errors, poor repeatability, and even measurement failure. It can be seen from the above introduction that the 3D locator that is vigorously promoted by domestic manufacturers is actually only shooting at two static positions, and has not yet realized dynamic measurement. It can only be regarded as a primary and simple 3D product. It is debatable how much this "truth" of 3D is.
